The Peoria Rivermen tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but Mississippi RiverKings held on for a 4-2 victory. Mississippi RiverKings took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Peoria storm back on a Garrett Vermeersch goal 2:52 into the third period to pull to two goals down. Mississippi RiverKings got the win thanks to a great game by Devin Mantha, who had one goal and two assists. Mantha scored 10:24 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Mississippi RiverKings. Bryon Paulazzo assisted on the tally. Mississippi RiverKings' offense rang up 31 shots on the Rivermen's net. Mississippi RiverKings' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Mississippi RiverKings also had goals scored by Mike Hayward, Andrew Randazzo, and Sean Jones, who each put in one. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Reid Campbell, who had two and Matt Whitehead and Matt Harrington, who contributed one each.
