Tyler Barr had two goals and one assist to lead the Louisiana IceGators to a 5-2 victory over Mississippi RiverKings. Barr scored at 12:11 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Mississippi RiverKings and again while on the power play 10:57 into the third to make the score 5-2 Louisiana.Louisiana's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The IceGators surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Louisiana put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississippi RiverKings to score on any of its three power plays. Louisiana additionally got points from Chris Wilson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Louisiana also had goals scored by Jake Hauswirth and Bret Peppler, who scored one goal each.
