Delisle's hat trick boosts Mississippi RiverKings over Louisiana, 6-4

Dan Delisle netted a hat trick to lead Mississippi RiverKings over the Louisiana IceGators, 6-4.

Delisle's first goal came 9:53 into the second period. He then added goals at 3:20 into the third and at 18:59 into the third.

Mississippi RiverKings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Louisiana to score on any of its three power plays. Mississippi RiverKings outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Mississippi RiverKings averages 2.5 goals per contest.

Sean Jones also scored for Mississippi RiverKings. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Dylan Quaile, Devin Mantha, Bryon Paulazzo, Mike Hayward, and Daniel Sobotka, who contributed one each and Matt Whitehead and Andrew Randazzo, who each chipped in two.

The IceGators' offense was clicking better than usual and put 25 shots on goal during the game, better than the 20.9 shots per game they average.

Louisiana was helped by Bret Peppler, who registered two goals. Peppler scored the first of his two goals at 12 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Louisiana. Matt Viola picked up the assist. Peppler's next tally made the score 5-4 Mississippi RiverKings with 2:32 left in the third period. Viola assisted on the tally. Louisiana also got points from Shawn McNeil, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Luke Kasteel, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Louisiana received assists from Tanner Burton, Jeremy Boyer, Adam Stuart, and Mitchell Stretch, who contributed one each.

Peter Di Salvo recorded 21 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. The IceGators' Andrew Flemming stopped 22 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Louisiana incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
