Cameron scored 11:51 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Knoxville. John Clewlow assisted on the tally. More assists for Fayetteville came via Jan Safar, who had one. The Ice Bears put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the FireAntz to score on any of their three power plays. Fayetteville was unable to stop Knoxville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Ice Bears eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Knoxville was led by Berkley Scott, who scored the team's only goal. Scott scored the first of his two goals at 14:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Knoxville. Mike Henderson provided the assist. Scott's next tally made the score 2-0 Knoxville with 45 seconds left in the first period. Bryan Hince rejected 31 shots on goal for the Ice Bears.
