Mississippi RiverKings survives Knoxville comeback, wins 5-3

Mississippi RiverKings came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Knoxville Ice Bears, but did just enough to escape with a 5-3 victory.

Mississippi RiverKings led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Mississippi RiverKings' Dan Delisle scored at 19:58 in the third period to put Mississippi RiverKings up 6-3.

Matt Harrington had two goals to lead Mississippi RiverKings to victory. Harrington scored at 17:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi RiverKings and again while 4:55 into the third to make the score 5-2 Mississippi RiverKings.

Mississippi RiverKings outdid its season average for goals scored. Mississippi RiverKings has scored at the pace of 2.4 goals per game during the current campaign. The 35 shots that Mississippi RiverKings put on net surpassed Mississippi RiverKings' average of 29.5 shots per game this season.

Mississippi RiverKings additionally got points from Matt Whitehead, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Mississippi RiverKings included Devin Mantha and Daniel Sobotka, who scored one goal each. More assists for Mississippi RiverKings came via Andrew Randazzo, who had two and Bryon Paulazzo and Leo Thomas, who each chipped in one.

Knoxville was helped by Francis Drolet, who tallied one goal and one assist. Drolet scored 9:47 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mississippi RiverKings. Ryan Salvis assisted on the tally. Knoxville also had goals scored by Mike Henderson and Berkley Scott, who each put in one. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Robbie Donahoe and Eric Satim, who contributed one each.

Adam Courchaine recorded 23 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Ice Bears' Bryan Hince stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Knoxville totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play.
