Mississippi RiverKings falls to Columbus in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Columbus Cottonmouths pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over Mississippi RiverKings on a clutch goal by Matt Gingera.

Columbus was led by Gingera, who registered one goal and one assist. Gingera scored 23 seconds into overtime to make the score 3-2 Columbus. Levi Lind assisted on the tally.

Others who scored for Columbus included Nick Curry and Bryce Williamson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Columbus came via Louis Belisle, Kyle Thomas, and Neilsson Arcibal, who each chipped in one.

Mississippi RiverKings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Columbus power plays. By firing 37 shots on goal, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 31.3 shots it averages per game this year.

Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Justin Gvora, who tallied one goal. Gvora scored 6:12 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Mississippi RiverKings. Dylan Quaile provided the assist. Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Cody Dion as well. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Devin Mantha, Bryon Paulazzo, and Linden Bahm, who contributed one each.

Andrew Loewen made 35 saves for the Cottonmouths on 37 shots. Columbus incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Adam Courchaine recorded 27 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
