Strang, Pensacola blank Huntsville, 4-0

Max Strang recorded a shutout against the Huntsville Havoc as the Pensacola Ice Flyers picked up a 4-0 win.

Corey Banfield had one goal and two assists to lead Pensacola. Banfield scored 3:56 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pensacola. Jason Fabian picked up the assist.

The 34 shots that the Ice Flyers put on net surpassed Pensacola's average of 29.2 shots per game this season.

Others who scored for Pensacola included Phil Tesoriero, Brett Beebe, and Adam Pawlick, who each put in one. In addition, Pensacola received assists from Cody Ferriero, who had two and Drew Baker, Brett Lutes, and Steve Bergin, who each chipped in one.

Huntsville could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Havoc put an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game. Huntsville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Jacob Johnstone, Colin Hekle and Nick Lazorko took 15 of the team's 29 shots.

The Ice Flyers' Strang stopped 29 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Pensacola totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
