Genoe stymies Mississippi RiverKings, Huntsville wins 2-1

Kevin Genoe stood on his head and made 26 saves to lead the Huntsville Havoc to a 2-1 victory over Mississippi RiverKings.

Huntsville was led by Mike Henderson, who finished with one goal. Henderson scored 18:13 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Huntsville. Colin Hekle assisted on the tally.

The Havoc excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Huntsville averages 30.8 shots on goal per game, but only sent 21 pucks on net against Mississippi RiverKings.

Huntsville also got a goal from Nick Lazorko as well. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Stuart Stefan, Eric Alexander, and Jordan Foreman, who contributed one each.

Mississippi RiverKings stifled the Havoc's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Matt Whitehead, who scored the team's only goal. Whitehead scored 1:36 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Leo Thomas picked up the assist.

Huntsville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mississippi RiverKings' Adam Courchaine stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Mississippi RiverKings incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
