Josh Harris lifted the Peoria Rivermen to a 4-1 victory with a hat trick against the Knoxville Ice Bears. Harris' first goal came 19:20 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:43 into the third and at 19:34 into the third.Peoria was led by goalie Kyle Rank, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Rank certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.0 entering the contest. The Rivermen's penalty kill excelled, as Peoria gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays. The Rivermen stifled Knoxville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Peoria was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 27 penalty minutes. Garrett Vermeersch also scored for Peoria. In addition, Peoria received assists from Cole Ruwe and Matt Summers, who each chipped in two. The Ice Bears' offense operated below their season average. Knoxville averages 4.0 goals per game. The Ice Bears were led by Ben Power, who scored the team's only goal. Power scored 5:11 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. Ryan Hill picked up the assist. The Rivermen registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Knoxville's Bryan Hince stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Ice Bears ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major.
