The Knoxville Ice Bears had trouble finding ways to stop the Peoria Rivermen, which beat Ice Bears, 5-1.

Peoria's penalty kill excelled, as the Rivermen gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Peoria was led by Alex Hudson, who finished with one goal and one assist. Hudson scored 13:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. Michael Slowikowski assisted on the tally.

The Rivermen stifled Knoxville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Peoria outdid its season average for goals scored. The Rivermen average 2.8 goals per game. Peoria put 34 shots on net during the contest, more than the 22.4 it averages per game.

Peoria also had goals scored by Nick Wheeler, Josh Harris, Jordan Sims, and Ben Warda, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Cole Ruwe, Dan Bremner, Garrett Vermeersch, Jake Trask, and Matt Summers, who contributed one each.

The Ice Bears did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Knoxville puts an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game.

The Ice Bears were led by Eric Satim, who scored the team's only goal. Satim scored 13:18 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Salvis picked up the assist.

The Rivermen's Eric Levine stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Peoria totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Bryan Hince rejected 29 shots on goal for Knoxville. The Ice Bears incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
