Sydney Ice Dogs uses fast start to beat Sydney Bears, 8-0

Sydney Bears fell behind early, and Sydney Ice Dogs kept piling on the points on the way to an 8-0 victory.

Shane Southwood was all over the ice for Sydney Ice Dogs, as he tallied five goals and one assist in the win. Southwood's first goal came 3:19 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:38 into the first, at 14:43 into the first, at 17:21 into the third, and at 18:18 into the third.

Sydney Ice Dogs was boosted by Timothy Noting, who turned in a shutout with 30 saves. Noting managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 4.24 prior to the game.

Sydney Ice Dogs stifled Sydney Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Sydney Ice Dogs outdid its season average for goals scored.
