Picton erases deficit to stun Napanee, 3-2Prince Edward Thu, Feb 05, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Picton Pirates climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Napanee Raiders, 3-2. Picton never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Pirates trailed 2-0 after a goal by Napanee's Zack Revell at 2:38 in the second period. Picton knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Corey Prince at 19:36 in the second period. The Pirates netted the game winner at 9:29 in the third period on a goal by Prince. Picton was paced by Phil Smith, who registered one goal. The Pirates' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Napanee power plays. The Raiders were unable to stop Picton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Pirates eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Picton also got a goal from Chris Jones as well. In addition, Picton received assists from Brian Bunnett, who had two and Curtis Colbary, Devin McCann, and Mitchell Merry, who each chipped in one. Napanee did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Raiders put an average of 4.5 pucks into the net per game. Brodie Butt also scored for Napanee. Other players who recorded assists for Napanee were Keenan Murray, Jordan Cannons, and Josh Murphy, who contributed one each. Nick Kazmierczak rejected 26 shots on goal for Picton. The Pirates incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Cameron Parr recorded 29 saves for Napanee. The Raiders incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
