Amherstview downs Picton, 6-2

Jordan Howe tallied two points to lead the Amherstview Jets to a 6-2 victory over the Picton Pirates.

Amherstview excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Picton was unable to stop the Jets from sending pucks towards the net, and Amherstview eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Amherstview also got points from Cassidy Bruni, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Amherstview included Cam Blakeley, Brody Taylor, Ben Bianco, and Dorian Overland, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstview were Adam Alcorn, who had two and Konner Burtenshaw, Cody Jodoin, Zach Masterson, and Wyatt Crampton, who contributed one each.

The Pirates could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Picton puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Pirates' offense rang up 35 shots on the Jets' net.

Picton was helped by Phil Smith, who racked up one goal. Smith scored 12:05 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Picton. Austin Labelle provided the assist. Noah Sager also scored for Picton. More assists for Picton came via Mitch Burke and Nolan Van Vlack, who each chipped in one.

Ryan Kaszuba made 33 saves for Amherstview on 35 shots. The Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nick Kazmierczak recorded 25 saves for the Pirates. Picton incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
