Port Hope falls to Napanee in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Austin Boulard gave the Napanee Raiders a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Port Hope Panthers when he scored 4:23 into the extra period.

Although Napanee was up by as many as two goals in the third period, Port Hope kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Panthers got to within 3-2 on a goal by Cameron McGill at 7:37 in the third period.

The Raiders put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Port Hope to score on any of its five power plays.

Napanee also had goals scored by Aidan Girduckis, Keenan Murray, and Troy Wylie, who each put in one. More assists for Napanee came via Riley Steeves, Zach Knapp-Hermer, Mitch Pearce, Cullen Hinds, and Josh Murphy, who contributed one each.

The Panthers' offense operated below their season average. Port Hope puts an average of 5.4 pucks into the net per game. Napanee was unable to stop the Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Port Hope eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

The Panthers were led by Josh Cameron, who had one goal and two assists. Cameron scored 11:54 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Dalton Lawrence picked up the assist. Port Hope additionally got points from Lawrence, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Hunter Baker, who had two.

Cameron Parr recorded 37 saves for the Raiders. Napanee incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Devan Tremblay made 23 saves for Port Hope on 27 shots. The Panthers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
