Picton holds on for 6-5 win against Napanee

The Napanee Raiders tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Picton Pirates held on for a 6-5 victory.

Picton took a 6-4 lead during the third period, only to have Napanee storm back on a Mitch Pearce goal 18:43 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Taylor Brown was all over the ice for the Pirates, as he registered two goals in the win.

Picton kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cameron Parr made 31 saves on 37 shots.

Picton also got points from Austin Labelle, who also finished with two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Phil Smith, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Chris Jones also scored for Picton. In addition, Picton received assists from Brian Bunnett, who had three and Shaw Boomhower APM, Curtis Colbary, Nate Kellar, and Mitch Burke, who each chipped in one.

Napanee forced the Pirates goalie Nick Kazmierczak to work between the pipes, taking 54 shots.

Napanee additionally got points from Brandon Nadeau, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Napanee included Josh St.Peter and Troy Wylie, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Napanee were Aidan Girduckis, Keenan Murray, Zack Revell, Zach Knapp-Hermer, and Will Peirson, who contributed one each and Jordan Cannons and Austin Boulard, who each chipped in two.

Kazmierczak rejected 49 shots on goal for Picton. The Pirates incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
