Port Hope downs Campbellford, 5-0

Tyler Davey grabbed two points to lead the Port Hope Panthers to a 5-0 victory over the Campbellford Rebels.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 14:34 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Port Hope put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Campbellford to score on any of its three power plays. The Panthers was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Port Hope allows 2.4 goals per game. The Panthers' offense rang up 50 shots on the Rebels' net.

Port Hope additionally got points from Hunter Baker, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Nathan Snoek, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Dalton Lawrence, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Kallen McFarland, who had two and Jacob Spicer and Brandon Baks, who each chipped in one.

Campbellford racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The Rebels had been averaging 24.0 minutes in penalties per game. Campbellford's offense operated below its season average. The Rebels put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game.

Devan Tremblay made 17 saves for Port Hope on 17 shots. The Panthers totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-10 on the power play. Port Hope ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Liam Rowe was ejected from the game. Cole Mahoney recorded 45 saves for Campbellford. For the Rebels, Nick Ferguson was ejected from the game.
