Campbellford wins tough contest against Napanee, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Campbellford Rebels escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Napanee Raiders.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by William Lameroux at 13:57 of the third period.

Lameroux had two goals and one assist to lead Campbellford. Lameroux scored the first of his two goals at 46 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Campbellford. Colin Doyle provided the assist. Lameroux's next tally made the score 3-2 Campbellford with 6:03 left in the third period. Andrew Doxtator picked up the assist.

Napanee's power play was ineffective against the Rebels' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Campbellford excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Campbellford also got points from Jon Samis, who also racked up one goal and one assist.

The Raiders were held below their usual level of production. Napanee averages 4.5 goals per game. The Raiders forced the Rebels goalie Cole Mahoney to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Napanee was helped by Zack Revell, who had one goal. Revell scored 1:32 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brodie Butt assisted on the tally. Napanee additionally got points from Butt, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Napanee received assists from Matthew Muller and Nicolas Schuler, who each chipped in one.

Mahoney rejected 34 shots on goal for Campbellford. The Rebels incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Cameron Parr made 22 saves for the Raiders on 25 shots. Napanee incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
