Napanee rips Deseronto, 6-0

The Napanee Raiders had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over the Deseronto Storm.

Zach Knapp-Hermer was all over the ice for Napanee, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Knapp-Hermer scored 8:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Napanee. Jordan Cannons provided the assist.

The Raiders pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Napanee excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Raiders' defensive play was more effective than usual against Deseronto. Napanee allows 2.9 goals per game. The Storm were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Napanee eventually piled up 49 shots on goal.

Napanee additionally got points from Brandon Nadeau, who also registered two goals and one assist and Troy Wylie, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Napanee included Matthew Muller and Brodie Butt, who each put in one. In addition, Napanee received assists from Kyle Murphy, who had two and Aidan Girduckis, Riley Steeves, and Mitch Pearce, who contributed one each.

Deseronto's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Napanee power plays. The Raiders' defense shut down the Storm's forwards for much of the game, and Deseronto got off only 12 shots during the contest.

Cameron Parr made 12 saves for Napanee on 12 shots. For the Raiders, Butt was ejected from the game. Aaron Young recorded 43 saves for the Storm. Deseronto incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
