Amherstview downs Port Hope, 5-2

Jesse Stone registered one point to lead the Amherstview Jets to a 5-2 victory over the Port Hope Panthers.

Amherstview excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Amherstview also got points from Adam Alcorn, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, Brett Yake, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Cassidy Bruni, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brody Taylor also scored for Amherstview. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstview were Jordan Howe, who had two and Cody Jodoin, Ben Bianco, and Dorian Overland, who contributed one each.

Port Hope did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Panthers put an average of 5.9 pucks into the net per game. The Jets were unable to stop Port Hope from sending pucks towards the net, and the Panthers eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Port Hope was helped by Kallen McFarland, who registered one goal. McFarland scored 13:45 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Dan Lagrois assisted on the tally. Port Hope also got a goal from Hunter Baker as well. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Jacob Spicer and Chays Ruddy, who each chipped in one.

Ryan Kaszuba made 30 saves for Amherstview on 32 shots. The Jets incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Branson Schell took the loss and made 20 saves before being replaced by Alec Brown who made zero saves. The Panthers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Port Hope, Rory Milne was ejected from the game.
