Campbellford beats Napanee 4-3 after comeback scare

The Campbellford Rebels survived a determined comeback attempt by the Napanee Raiders on the way to a 4-3 win.

Campbellford took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Napanee storm back on a Zack Revell goal 18:59 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Jeremiah Doherty had a great game for the Rebels, netting four goals. Doherty got on the scoresheet 13:34 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:29 into the first and at 16:14 into the second.

Other players who recorded assists for Campbellford were Jon Samis, who had one and Colin Doyle, who had three.

The Raiders put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Campbellford to score on any of its three power plays.

Jordan Cannons also scored for Napanee. In addition, Napanee received assists from Brodie Butt, who had two and Matthew Muller, Keenan Murray, and Mitch Pearce, who contributed one each.

The Rebels' Cole Mahoney stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Campbellford incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Napanee's starting goalie, Cameron Parr, made 17 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Tomo Mikuljan, who stopped five shots. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
