Napanee downs Port Hope in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Napanee Raiders' Will Peirson scored 27 seconds into overtime to beat the Port Hope Panthers, 5-4 (OT).

Brodie Butt had two goals to lead Napanee to victory. Butt found the back of the net 5:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Napanee and again while on the power play 13:54 into the first to make the score 2-0 Napanee.

The Raiders managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Napanee finished below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. The Raiders' offense rang up 31 shots on Port Hope's net. Napanee capitalized on the Panthers' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Napanee also got points from Jordan Cannons, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Keenan Murray also scored for Napanee. In addition, Napanee received assists from Riley Steeves, who had two and Zack Revell, Mitch Pearce, and Austin Boulard, who each chipped in one.

Port Hope was led by Mike Smith, who registered one goal and one assist. Smith scored 4:06 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Napanee. Kallen McFarland picked up the assist. Port Hope additionally got points from Tyler Davey, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Port Hope included Dylan Baxter and Dan Lagrois, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Jacob Spicer, who had two.

Cameron Parr rejected 19 shots on goal for the Raiders. Branson Schell made 26 saves for the Panthers on 31 shots. Port Hope incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
