Campbellford squeaks by Napanee, 6-4

The Campbellford Rebels gutted out a close 6-4 win against the Napanee Raiders.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Jeremiah Doherty's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Doherty had a great game for Campbellford, netting two goals.

The Rebels pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes.

Campbellford outdid its season average for goals scored. The Rebels have scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Campbellford capitalized on Napanee's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage.

Campbellford additionally got points from Jacob Bennett, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Campbellford included Jon Samis, Nick Ferguson, and Josh Hodge, who scored one goal each. More assists for Campbellford came via William Lameroux, who had three and Koel Newton and Andrew Doxtator, who contributed one each.

The Raiders' offense rang up 36 shots on the Rebels' net.

Napanee was helped by Josh Murphy, who tallied one goal. Murphy scored 34 seconds into the third period to make the score 4-3 Campbellford. Napanee also got points from Jordan Cannons, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Napanee also had goals scored by Zach Knapp-Hermer and Cullen Hinds, who each put in one. In addition, Napanee received assists from Austin Boulard, who had two and Michael Parr and Keenan Murray, who each chipped in one.

Campbellford's Cole Mahoney stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Cameron Parr rejected 21 shots on goal for the Raiders. Napanee incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
