Lagrois nets hat trick, leads Port Hope to 12-2 win over DeserontoDeseronto & District CC Fri, Oct 31, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Dan Lagrois was the highlight in Panthers' 12-2 win against the Deseronto Storm. Lagrois got on the scoresheet 3:21 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:38 into the third and at 13:25 into the third.Deseronto was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as the Port Hope Panthers were able to score four times while on the power play. The Storm were unable to stop Port Hope from sending pucks towards the net, and the Panthers eventually piled up 81 shots on goal. Port Hope outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Panthers average 5.8 goals per contest. Port Hope struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 36 penalty minutes for two opposing power plays. Port Hope also got points from Cameron Lowery, who also registered two goals and two assists, Liam Rowe, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Tyler Davey, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Port Hope included Hunter Baker, who had two and Jacob Spicer, Dylan Baxter, and Nathan Snoek, who scored one goal each. In addition, Port Hope received assists from Matthew Hunt, who had one, Shawn Mackie, who had four, and Cameron McGill, Chays Ruddy, and Chandler Gillespie, who each chipped in two. Deseronto's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Storm finished with 66 penalty minutes. Deseronto was helped by Brett Maracle, who had one goal. Maracle scored 3:46 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Port Hope. Brodie Maracle assisted on the tally. Brett Bateman also scored for Deseronto. More assists for Deseronto came via Mitch Goodfellow and Mitchell Thompson, who contributed one each. Alce Brown recorded 16 saves for the Panthers. Matt Loveys made 69 saves for the Storm on 81 shots. Deseronto ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Bateman was ejected from the game. |
