Brown stymies Deseronto, Port Hope wins 7-1Deseronto & District CC Fri, Oct 03, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Alce Brown had a standout game with 30 saves, and the Port Hope Panthers beat the Deseronto Storm 7-1. Port Hope was led by Liam Rowe, who registered one goal. Rowe scored 8:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Hope. The Panthers kept Deseronto's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Loveys made 57 saves on 64 shots. Port Hope additionally got points from Hunter Baker, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Nathan Snoek, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Port Hope included Jordan Leigh, who had two and Cameron Lowery and Kallen McFarland, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Port Hope were Connor Turland, Jacob Spicer, Rory Milne, and Brandon Baks, who contributed one each. The Storm put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Port Hope to score on any of its five power plays. The Panthers were unable to stop Deseronto from sending pucks towards the net, and the Storm eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Deseronto was led by Trey Maracle APM, who scored the team's only goal. Maracle APM scored 5:36 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Port Hope incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Storm incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
