Napanee rides Mikuljan to victory over Amherstview, 5-1

Tomo Mikuljan had a standout game with 25 saves, and the Napanee Raiders beat the Amherstview Jets 5-1.

Napanee was led by Josh Murphy, who had one goal. Murphy scored 8:55 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Napanee. Mitch Pearce picked up the assist.

The Raiders stifled Amherstview's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Napanee also got points from Will Peirson, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Napanee also had goals scored by Kyle Murphy, Matthew Muller, and Troy Wylie, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Napanee were Jordan Cannons and Austin Boulard, who contributed one each.

The Jets could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Amherstview puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game.

The Jets were led by Cody Smith, who scored the team's only goal. Smith scored 6:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amherstview. Brody Taylor assisted on the tally.

Napanee incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ryan Kaszuba made 18 saves for Amherstview on 23 shots. The Jets incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
