Tavolieri-Essex's big game bests Wallaceburg in 8-2 Lakeshore win

The Lakeshore Canadiens' Nick Tavolieri-Essex had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 8-2 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Tavolieri-Essex scored at 13:29 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lakeshore and again while 11:10 into the second to make the score 5-1 Lakeshore.

Lakeshore's penalty kill excelled, as the Canadiens gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Lakeshore forced Lakers' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 55 shots and forcing 47 saves. Scotty Gray made 21 stops and Joel Sowinski made 26. The Canadiens stifled Wallaceburg's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lakeshore bested its season scoring average. The Canadiens average 4.4 goals per game.

Lakeshore also got points from Sebastian Kanally, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Luke Sanko, who also had one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Lakeshore included Cameron MacDougall, Nick Goran, and Mejoe Gasparovic, who scored one goal each. More assists for Lakeshore came via Hunter Corp, Zack Bedard, Brenden Crundwell, and Connor Goodchild, who contributed one each and Liam MacDougall and Logan Percy, who each chipped in three.

The Lakers were led by Jeff Brown, who finished with one goal. Brown scored 12:33 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Shaw provided the assist. Jackson Gray also scored for Wallaceburg. In addition, Wallaceburg received assists from Mike Brown, Mike Zottl, and Jordan Eagan, who contributed one each.

Colin Tetreault rejected 24 shots on goal for Lakeshore. The Canadiens incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Wallaceburg incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
