Lakeshore beats Dresden 7-0 as Jeffries gains shutout

The Lakeshore Canadiens used a sparkling performance by John Jeffries to take down the Dresden Kings, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Lakeshore's 7-0 shutout victory.

Dresden's power play was ineffective against the Canadiens' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Lakeshore's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time. The Canadiens surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. Lakeshore forced Kings' netminders to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots and forcing 26 saves. Scott Tricker made 15 stops and Alex Carrier made 11. The Canadiens stifled the Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Lakeshore's defense was surprisingly good. The Canadiens gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Lakeshore's goal total was higher than its season average. The Canadiens average 4.2 goals per game.

Lakeshore was helped by Zack Bedard, who tallied one goal and one assist. Bedard scored 5:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakeshore. Nick Goran picked up the assist. Others who scored for Lakeshore included Sebastian Kanally and Liam MacDougall, who each put in two and Quinton OBrien and Luke Sanko, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lakeshore received assists from JJ Percy, who had two, Colin Sartor, who had three, and Brad Carroll, Hunter Corp, Dylan Kolic, and Michael Long, who contributed one each.

Dresden's offense operated below its season average. The Kings put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Dresden's offense rang up 33 shots on the Canadiens' net.

Jeffries rejected 33 shots on goal for Lakeshore. The Canadiens registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Lakeshore, Logan Percy was ejected from the game. The Kings ended with 32 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors. Team's David Vergeer and John Montgomery were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
