Lakeshore rolls over Blenheim, 5-1

The Lakeshore Canadiens were firing on all cylinders against the Blenheim Blades, and when the final buzzer sounded Canadiens emerged with a 5-1 win.

Brad Carroll had a great game for Lakeshore, netting two goals. Carroll's tallies came at 16:11 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lakeshore and on the power play 3:37 into the second to make the score 3-0 Lakeshore.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 4:12 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

The Canadiens' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Blenheim power plays. Lakeshore kept Blenheim's goalie busy throughout the game, and Eric Stewardson made 38 saves on 43 shots.

Lakeshore additionally got points from JJ Percy, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Liam MacDougall, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mitch Defede also scored for Lakeshore. More assists for Lakeshore came via Sebastian Kanally, who had two and Colin Sartor, Hunter Corp, Brenden Crundwell, Michael Long, and Connor Goodchild, who contributed one each.

The Blades' offense operated below their season average. Blenheim averages 3.1 goals per game. The Blades were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 22 penalty minutes.

Blenheim was led by Ben Pataki, who scored the team's only goal. Pataki scored 4:18 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lakeshore.

The Canadiens' starting goalie, John Jeffries, made 12 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Colin Tetreault, who stopped three shots. Lakeshore totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. For the Canadiens, Corp was ejected from the game. Team's Lucas Hickey and Jarrod Oliphant were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
