Lakeshore beats Wheatley 4-3 after comeback scare

The Wheatley Sharks tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Lakeshore Canadiens held on for a 4-3 victory.

Lakeshore made the score 4-1 on a goal by Sebastian Kanally at 3:36 in the third period, and Wheatley got as close as 4-3 when Jimmy Ciacelli scored 16:33 into the third period.

Kanally had a great game for the Canadiens, netting two goals.

Lakeshore could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

Nick Tavolieri also scored for Lakeshore. More assists for Lakeshore came via Brad Carroll, Cameron MacDougall, Hunter Corp, Liam MacDougall, and Logan Percy, who each chipped in one.

The Sharks' offense rang up 38 shots on the Canadiens' net.

Wheatley also got a goal from Mike Reid as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wheatley were Scott Florence, who had two and Austin Thompson and Brendon Anger, who contributed one each.

Lakeshore's John Jeffries stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Canadiens registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Conner MacKinnon made 26 saves for Wheatley on 30 shots. The Sharks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
