Dresden beats Blenheim 2-0 as Tricker gains shutout

Scott Tricker made 41 saves to complete the shutout and led the Dresden Kings to a 2-0 win against the Blenheim Blades.

Dresden was led by Kevin Ritzer, who registered one goal. Ritzer scored on the power play 11:58 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Dresden. The Kings had taken the advantage when Blenheim's Alex Ritchie got sent off for high sticking. Macks Holmes provided the assist.

Dresden put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Blades to score on any of their four power plays.

Dresden also got points from Holmes, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dresden were Jim McKinlay, who had one and Dillon Liberty, who had two.

The Kings were unable to stop Blenheim from sending pucks towards the net, and the Blades eventually piled up 41 shots on goal.

Dresden incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Eric Stewardson made 19 saves for Blenheim on 21 shots. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
