Lakeshore rips Amherstburg, 7-3

The Lakeshore Canadiens were firing on all cylinders against the Amherstburg Admirals, and when the final buzzer sounded Canadiens emerged with a 7-3 win.

Lakeshore was sparked by Zack Bedard, who had one goal. Bedard scored 8:42 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Lakeshore. JJ Percy provided the assist.

The Canadiens forced Admirals' netminders to work between the pipes, ripping 39 shots and forcing 32 saves. Arren Romeril made 27 stops and Daniel Tonietto made five. Lakeshore outdid its season average for goals scored. The Canadiens average 3.5 goals per game. The defensemen of Lakeshore were also effective in Amherstburg's zone, and came away with two goals.

Lakeshore additionally got points from Nick Tavolieri, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Sebastian Kanally, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Lakeshore also had goals scored by Steven Sartor, Liam MacDougall, and Logan Percy, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lakeshore were Hunter Corp, who had two and Colin Sartor, Mitch Defede, and Nick Goran, who each chipped in one.

The Admirals could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

Amherstburg was helped by Kasey Basile, who registered one goal. Basile scored 13:08 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Lakeshore. Chad Copeland picked up the assist. Others who scored for Amherstburg included James Brooks and Jordan Luciw, who each put in one. In addition, Amherstburg received assists from Mark Sobocan, Curtis Prymack, Dan Matoski, and Colin Leardi, who contributed one each.

The Canadiens' John Jeffries stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Lakeshore incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Admirals registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
