Kincardine falls to Hanover in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Hanover Barons' Jarrett Kuntz scored 3:57 into overtime to beat the Kincardine Bulldogs, 4-3 (OT).

Hanover's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Kincardine power plays. The Barons forced Kincardine goalie Luke Aulthouse to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Hanover was led by Tanner Bastien, who tallied two goals. Bastien scored the first of his two goals at 2:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hanover. Denver Hill assisted on the tally. Bastien's next tally made the score 3-2 Hanover with 7:51 left in the third period. Brad Pitt picked up the assist. Hanover also got points from Hill, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Hanover received assists from Colton Culbert, who had two and Kyler Jones, Mitchell Pike, and Wendel Cameron, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Kincardine's offense rang up 41 shots on the Barons' net.

The Bulldogs were led by Shawn Moore, who registered two goals. Moore scored the first of his two goals at 11:36 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Mike Smailes assisted on the tally. Moore's next tally made the score 2-1 Kincardine with 30 seconds left in the second period. Jordan Bell picked up the assist. Patrick Wiejak also scored for Kincardine. Other players who recorded assists for Kincardine were Carter Strachan, Matt Baker, and Matthew Mah, who contributed one each.

Gord Walmsley made 38 saves for Hanover on 41 shots. The Barons incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Aulthouse rejected 35 shots on goal for Kincardine. The Bulldogs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
