Kincardine wins tough contest against Goderich, 3-2

The Kincardine Bulldogs and the Goderich Flyers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Kincardine made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Matthew Mah secured the win for the Bulldogs with a goal in the third period.

Kincardine was led by Mah, who grabbed one goal. Mah scored on the power play 16 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Kincardine. The Bulldogs had gotten the advantage when Goderich's Drew McKee was sent off for high sticking. Carter Strachan provided the assist.

Kincardine kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Pat Do made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Kincardine also had goals scored by Riley Cook and Gerrit Satosek, who each put in one. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Shawn Moore, Sam Feagan, and Ben Watson, who each chipped in one.

Goderich could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Flyers were helped by Jesse McIntyre, who tallied one goal. McIntyre scored on the power play 5:14 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Goderich earned a power play opportunity when Mah was put in the box for holding stick. Jordan Pepper assisted on the tally. Taylor Helesic also scored for Goderich. Other players who recorded assists for Goderich were Nick Gowing and Liam Melady, who contributed one each.

Luke Aulthouse made 23 saves for the Bulldogs on 25 shots. Kincardine incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Flyers registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
