Ayr falls to Paris in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Paris Mounties pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over the Ayr Centennials on a clutch goal by Austin Sine.

Paris came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Mounties was down 3-1 after a goal by Ayr's Jake Whibbs at 16:17 in the first period. Paris knotted things up at 5-5 on a power play goal by Jackson White at 10:31 in the third period.

The Mounties kept the Centennials' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andre Keire made 29 saves on 35 shots. Paris could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Paris also got points from Clayton Chalmers, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Merrit Crumback, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Garrett Kirby also scored for Paris. More assists for Paris came via Brodie Smith, who had two and Mitchell Harvey and Tyler Arsenault, who each chipped in one.

Ayr's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. The Centennials are averaging 2.4 goals against for the season.

Ayr was helped by Felix Lantaigne, who finished with one goal. Lantaigne scored 13:58 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Ayr. Tyler Mellish provided the assist. Ayr additionally got points from Connor MacLean, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Andrew Richard, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Ayr received assists from Quinn Diamond, who had two and Jordan Pettitt and Colin Schuringa, who contributed one each.

Davis McLean made 21 saves for the Mounties on 26 shots. Paris registered three goals on six power play opportunities. For the Mounties, Jacob Norcott was ejected from the game. The Centennials incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
