Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Connor Merritt secured the win for the Bulldogs with a goal in the third period.

Burford's penalty kill excelled, as the Bulldogs gave up zero goals despite allowing 11 power plays.

Burford was sparked by Merritt, who registered one goal and one assist. Merritt scored 17:57 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Burford.

The Bulldogs forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time.
