Orillia survives Caledon comeback, wins 6-4

The Caledon Golden Hawks tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Orillia Terriers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4.

A goal by Jacob Beard put Orillia up 6-3 in the third period, but Caledon pulled to within two on Ryan Wonfor's tally 16:03 into the third period.

The Golden Hawks' five penalties came back to haunt them, as Caledon let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

The Golden Hawks were unable to stop the Terriers from sending pucks towards the net, and Orillia eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. The Terriers outdid their season average for goals scored. Orillia averages 3.6 goals per game.

The Terriers were helped by Ty Traynor, who registered one goal. Traynor scored 8:43 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Orillia. Ryan Tucci assisted on the tally. Orillia also got points from Jason Binnie, who also had one goal and one assist, Beard, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Mathew White, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Orillia also had goals scored by Sean Crowe and Andreas Alexiou, who each put in one. In addition, Orillia received assists from Nathan Beers, Garret Franzin, Matt Clifford, Denny Benson, Konnor Blimke, and Kyle Taylor, who contributed one each.

Caledon additionally got points from Steve Zeppieri, who also registered one goal and one assist, Ryan Mouser, who also had one goal and one assist, and Nicholas McNutt, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Caledon were Ben Ardis, who had two.

Gordie Weiss made 25 saves for Orillia on 29 shots. The Terriers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Caledon's Sam Procopio stopped 31 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Golden Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Caledon, Steven Klomp was ejected from the game.
