Alliston rips Penetang, 4-1

The Alliston Hornets had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Penetang Kings.

Alliston's Tyler Brindle was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. Brindle certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.02 entering the contest.

The Hornets got the win behind a great game by Nic Archibald, who had one goal and two assists. Archibald scored 4:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alliston. Mark ODonnell provided the assist.

Alliston forced Penetang goalie Adam Redgate to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Hornets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Alliston also got points from Tanner Dockerty, who also tallied one goal and one assist and ODonnell, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alliston also got a goal from Nick Arcan as well. In addition, Alliston received assists from Jamie Bennett and Gianluca Pallotta, who each chipped in one.

The Kings were held below their usual level of production. Penetang puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game.

The Kings were led by Brandon Frandsen, who scored the team's only goal. Frandsen scored on the power play 14:11 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Alliston. Penetang had taken the advantage when Alliston's Matt Hamilton got sent off for kneeing. Kyle Burns picked up the assist.

The Hornets registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Alliston ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matt Taylor was ejected from the game. The Kings' Redgate stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Penetang incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
