Huge game by Culley boosts Schomberg over Huntsville, 8-5Trisan Centre Thu, Jan 08, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Blake Culley was all over the ice for the Schomberg Cougars, as he tallied two goals and four assists in Schomberg's 8-5 win over the Huntsville Otters. Culley found the back of the net 18:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Schomberg and again while 3:55 into the third to make the score 5-3 Schomberg.The Cougars' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Huntsville power plays. Schomberg's offense rang up 42 shots on Huntsville's net. The Cougars outdid their season average for goals scored. Schomberg has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. The Cougars got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Schomberg additionally got points from Brandon Yorke, who also grabbed three goals and one assist and Cam Russell, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Schomberg also had goals scored by Joseph Mete and Justin Formenton, who scored one goal each. In addition, Schomberg received assists from John Gage, who had four and Ian Reid, Kiefer McIntosh, JP Crescenzi, Ryley Egerton, and Nicholas Chaykowsky, who each chipped in one. The Otters kept Schomberg's goalie busy throughout the game, and Taylor Ewart made 28 saves on 33 shots. Huntsville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game. The Otters were led by Josh Zantingh, who registered two goals and one assist. Zantingh scored the first of his two goals at 1:15 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Schomberg. Sam King picked up the assist. Zantingh's next tally made the score 8-4 Schomberg with 7:17 left in the third period. Others who scored for Huntsville included Jay Dix, Evan Lade, and Myles York, who each put in one. More assists for Huntsville came via Riley Vogels, Jake McIntyre, Corey Miller, and Jamie Halnan, who contributed one each. The Cougars incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hunter Ferguson rejected 34 shots on goal for Huntsville.
