Penetang vanquishes Fergus in shootout, 6-5 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Penetang Kings defeated the Fergus Devils in a shootout 6-5 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for eight attempts between the teams. Fergus' shootout goal was scored by Robert Ebach. In addition to the clincher, Penetang got a shootout goal from Jordan Schwartz.

Craig Robinson was all over the ice for the Kings, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Robinson's tallies came at 1:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Penetang and 8:04 into the second to make the score 4-3 Penetang.

Penetang's offense rang up 50 shots on the Devils' net. The Kings' goal total was higher than their season average. Penetang averages 3.6 goals per game.

Schwartz also scored for Penetang. Other players who recorded assists for Penetang were Matt Meher, Ryan Hackett, Jessey Moreau, and David Pearce, who each chipped in one and Trenton Micks (APM) and Jared Robertson, who contributed two each.

The Kings were unable to stop Fergus from sending pucks towards the net, and the Devils eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

Fergus was led by Ebach, who had one goal and two assists. Ebach scored 19:41 into the second period to make the score 5-4 Fergus. Brock Philips assisted on the tally. Fergus also got points from Griffin Heitshu, who also registered one goal and one assist. Fergus also had goals scored by Ben Roelofson, Mikael Ruffini, and Jack Vautour, who scored one goal each. In addition, Fergus received assists from Tyson Bouchard, James Murray, and Brock Heshka, who each chipped in one.

Adam Redgate made 42 saves for Penetang on 47 shots. The Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Devils' David Serra stopped 44 shots out of the 49 that he faced. Fergus incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
