The Alliston Hornets used a sparkling performance by Tyler Brindle to take down the Stayner Siskins, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Alliston's 8-0 shutout victory. Nic Archibald was all over the ice for the Hornets, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Archibald scored 12:46 into the third period to make the score 6-0 Alliston. Mark ODonnell assisted on the tally. Alliston pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 24 penalty minutes. The Hornets forced Siskins' goaltenders to work all game long, firing 43 shots and forcing 35 saves. Trevor Bloch made 31 stops and Brendan MacLam (AP) made four. Alliston put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Stayner to score on any of its six power plays. The Hornets' defense was surprisingly good. Alliston averages 2.2 goals allowed per game. The Hornets surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Alliston has scored at the pace of 5.3 goals per game during the current campaign. The Hornets got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Alliston also got points from ODonnell, who also registered two goals and one assist and Brendan Spencer, who also had one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Alliston included Jamie Bennett, who had two and Joe Cochrane and Andrew Ceolin, who each put in one. In addition, Alliston received assists from Jacob Tuck, who had two, Tanner Dockerty, who had three, and Mitch Livingston, Zack Byblow, Connor Annett, Steve Griggs, and Nick Arcan, who contributed one each. The Siskins were held below their usual level of production. Stayner averages 4.3 goals per game. The Siskins were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 32 penalty minutes. Brindle rejected 25 shots on goal for Alliston. The Hornets registered three goals on 10 power play opportunities. Alliston ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Gianluca Pallotta was ejected from the game.
