Stayner vanquishes Orillia in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Stayner Siskins defeated the Orillia Terriers in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.

Quinten Bruce was all over the ice for Stayner, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Bruce scored 11:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Stayner. Ricky Darrell picked up the assist.

Orillia was unable to stop the Siskins from sending pucks towards the net, and Stayner eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Stayner also had goals scored by Cooper Martin and Ben Lougheed, who each put in one. More assists for Stayner came via Sean Healy, who had one.

The Terriers' offense rang up 34 shots on the Siskins' net.

Orillia was helped by Jean-Philip Labonte, who registered one goal. Labonte scored 15:03 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Stayner. Ty Traynor provided the assist. Others who scored for Orillia included Jason Binnie and Matt Clifford, who scored one goal each. In addition, Orillia received assists from Jacob Beard, Denny Benson, Kyle Taylor, and Brock Welsh, who contributed one each.

Xavier Portelance made 31 saves for Stayner on 34 shots. The Siskins incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gordie Weiss recorded 31 saves for the Terriers. Orillia incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
