Huntsville falls to Erin in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Adam Anderson gave the Erin Shamrocks a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Huntsville Otters when he scored 2:58 into the extra period.

Anderson was all over the ice for Erin, as he registered two goals in the win.

Huntsville's power play was ineffective against the Shamrocks' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Erin forced the Otters goalie Hunter Ferguson to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Erin also got points from Adam Gibson, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Tyler Nieuwendyk also scored for Erin. In addition, Erin received assists from Adam Ferrer, Jordan Brown, Tyler Topham, and Connor Mortimer, who contributed one each.

Huntsville kept the Shamrocks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tom Denstedt made 36 saves on 39 shots.

The Otters were helped by Myles York, who tallied two goals and one assist. York scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:13 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Huntsville had gained a power play chance when Ben Nicolucci was whistled for hooking. Riley Vogels assisted on the tally. York's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 18:12 left in the third period. Jamie Halnan picked up the assist. Huntsville additionally got points from Halnan, who also had one goal and two assists. More assists for Huntsville came via Jake McIntyre, who had one.

Erin incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Ferguson recorded 32 saves for the Otters. Huntsville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
