Penetang downs Midland in overtime, 5-4 (OT)North Simcoe SRC Fri, Dec 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Craig Robinson gave the Penetang Kings a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Midland Flyers when he scored 4:11 into the extra period. Midland was unable to stop Penetang from sending pucks towards the net, and the Kings eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Penetang could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. Penetang also got points from Brandon Frandsen, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jordan Schwartz, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Penetang were Matt Meher, Mackenzie Bumstead, Kaden Shearer, and David Pearce, who contributed one each. The Flyers forced the Kings goalie Branden Walden to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots. Midland could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game. The Flyers were led by Cam Russell, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Russell scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Penetang. Midland had gained a power play chance when Jessey Moreau was whistled for roughing after whistle. Jon Goldsworthy assisted on the tally. Russell's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 7:13 left in the third period. Matt Smith picked up the assist. Others who scored for Midland included Evan Buehler and Neal Burgess, who each put in one. In addition, Midland received assists from Nick Heins and Daniel Pickering, who each chipped in one. Branden Walden made 49 saves for Penetang on 53 shots. The Kings registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. The Flyers' Matt Camilleri stopped 37 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Midland registered two goals on eight power play opportunities.
