Caledon downs Fergus in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Steven Klomp gave the Caledon Golden Hawks a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Fergus Devils when he scored 4:11 into the extra period.

Caledon was led by Klomp, who tallied one goal.

In a losing effort, Fergus was sparked by Griffin Heitshu, who had two goals. Heitshu scored the first of his two goals at 10:49 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Caledon. Brock Heshka assisted on the tally. Heitshu's next tally made the score 2-2 with 8:38 left in the third period. Ben Roelofson provided the assist.

The Golden Hawks stifled the Devils' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Caledon kept Fergus' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Elliott made 38 saves on 41 shots.

Caledon also got points from Michael Andrews, who also registered one goal and one assist and Christian Mariconda, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Caledon were Steve Zeppieri and Ryan Wonfor, who contributed one each.

The Devils excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Fergus' offense rang up 46 shots on the Golden Hawks' net.

Sam Procopio made 44 saves for Caledon on 46 shots. The Golden Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Devils incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
