Huntsville downs Schomberg in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Huntsville Otters' Jared Stevens APM scored 18 seconds into overtime to beat the Schomberg Cougars, 4-3 (OT).

Huntsville came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Otters was down 3-1 after a goal by Schomberg's JP Crescenzi at 14:13 in the second period. Huntsville knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Jake McIntyre at 19:53 in the second period.

The Cougars' power play was ineffective against the Otters' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Huntsville forced Schomberg goalie Taylor Ewart to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. The Otters were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 28 penalty minutes.

Others who scored for Huntsville included Josh Zantingh and Sean Crowe, who each put in one. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Myles York, who had two and Jesse Houlton, Evan Wilding, Corey Miller, Tanner Hamilton, Tyler Brown, and Jamie Halnan, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars kept Huntsville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Connor Christianson made 37 saves on 40 shots. Schomberg struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Schomberg also got a goal from Blake Culley as well. Other players who recorded assists for Schomberg were Derek Neilly, Joseph Mete, John Gage, and Nathan Sinclair, who contributed one each.

Ewart recorded 34 saves for the Cougars.
