Tucci nets hat trick, leads Orillia to 6-4 win over Alliston

Ryan Tucci lifted the Orillia Terriers to a 6-4 victory with a hat trick against the Alliston Hornets.

Tucci notched his first tally 11:15 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:28 into the second and at 19:57 into the third.

Orillia led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Terriers' Jackson Gunner scored on the power play at 2:00 in the third period to put Orillia up 5-2.

The Terriers bested their season scoring average. This season, Orillia averages 3.5 goals per contest.

Orillia additionally got points from Mathew White, who also had one goal and one assist and Brock Welsh, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Orillia came via Andrew Windrem, Greg Buchanan, Ty Traynor, Kyle Taylor, and Jordan Felix, who contributed one each.

Alliston kept the Terriers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Gordie Weiss made 36 saves on 40 shots. The Hornets' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. Alliston is averaging 2.3 goals against for the season.

The Hornets were led by Nic Archibald, who registered one goal and one assist. Archibald scored on the power play 10:46 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Orillia. Alliston had taken the advantage when Orillia's White got sent off for hooking. Payton Dunlop provided the assist. Alliston also got points from Dunlop, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Alliston also had goals scored by Steve Griggs and Jacob Tuck, who each put in one. In addition, Alliston received assists from Tanner Dockerty, who had two and Jamie Bennett and Nick Arcan, who each chipped in one.

The Terriers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Orillia ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Gunner was ejected from the game. The Hornets took out Tyler Brindle after he had made six saves and installed TJ Sherwood in goal, where he finished with 14 saves and the loss. Alliston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
