Jake Norton recorded a shutout against the Caledon Golden Hawks as the Midland Flyers picked up a 3-0 win. Cam Russell had two goals and one assist to lead Midland. Russell scored the first of his two goals at 2:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Midland. Matt Smith assisted on the tally. Russell's next tally made the score 3-0 Midland with 2:31 left in the third period. The Flyers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Caledon to score on any of its seven power plays. Midland kept the Golden Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and James Cyfko made 37 saves on 40 shots. Midland also got points from Smith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Caledon's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Midland power plays. The Golden Hawks could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Caledon averages 3.1 goals per game. The Flyers were unable to stop the Golden Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Caledon eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Midland's Norton stopped 32 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Midland, Jimmy Walter was ejected from the game. The Golden Hawks incurred 48 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Caledon ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Christian Burel was ejected from the game.
