Alliston downs Erin, 5-2New Tecumseth Rec Centre Sun, Nov 09, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Mark ODonnell finished with two points to lead the Alliston Hornets to a 5-2 victory over the Erin Shamrocks. Alliston's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Erin power plays. Alliston also got points from Jamie Bennett, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Nick Arcan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alliston also had goals scored by Steve Griggs and Brendan Spencer, who scored one goal each. More assists for Alliston came via Mike Barosso, Joe Cochrane, Andrew Ceolin, Nic Archibald, and Matt Hamilton, who each chipped in one. Erin stifled the Hornets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Shamrocks' offense were handcuffed by Alliston's defensive play, and Erin managed only 14 shots on goal during the game. The Shamrocks were helped by Brett Bloor, who tallied one goal. Bloor scored 4:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Erin. Cameron DeFazio picked up the assist. Erin also got a goal from Adam Ferrer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Erin were Jack Ford, Adam Gibson, and Chris Grenier, who contributed one each. TJ Sherwood rejected 12 shots on goal for the Hornets. Alliston incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tom Denstedt recorded 19 saves for Erin. The Shamrocks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Erin ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brad Ranson was ejected from the game.
