Stayner falls to Fergus in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Fergus Devils' Brock Heshka scored 4:17 into overtime to beat the Stayner Siskins, 5-4 (OT).

Fergus overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Devils was down 4-2 after a goal by Stayner's Sean Healy at 18:55 in the third period. Fergus tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Patrick Snell at 19:59 in the third period.

The Devils were led by Heshka, who had one goal.

Fergus kept the Siskins' goalie busy throughout the game, and Trevor Bloch made 34 saves on 39 shots. The defensemen of the Devils were also effective in Stayner's zone, and came away with three goals.

Others who scored for Fergus included Ben Roelofson, Mikael Ruffini, and Jack Vautour, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Fergus were Griffin Heitshu and Mike Traves, who each chipped in one and James Murray and Paolo Chemello, who contributed two each.

Fergus was unable to stop the Siskins from sending pucks towards the net, and Stayner eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Stayner also got points from Quinten Bruce, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stayner also had goals scored by Ben Lougheed and Dakota Hynes, who scored one goal each. More assists for Stayner came via Cooper Martin, Dylan Bursey, and Derick Robertson, who each chipped in one.

The Devils' David Serra stopped 39 shots out of the 43 that he faced. Fergus incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Siskins incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
