Alliston rips Huntsville, 10-1

The Alliston Hornets were firing on all cylinders against the Huntsville Otters, and when the final buzzer sounded Hornets emerged with a 10-1 win.

Jamie Bennett was all over the ice for Alliston, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Bennett scored the first of his two goals at 16:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alliston. Brendan Spencer picked up the assist. Bennett's next tally made the score 5-0 Alliston with 9:11 left in the second period. Jacob Tuck provided the assist.

The Hornets' penalty kill excelled, as Alliston gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Hornets kept Huntsville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hunter Ferguson made 27 saves on 37 shots. Alliston found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Hornets average 5.2 goals per contest. Alliston could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Alliston additionally got points from Steve Griggs, who also had one goal and one assist, Tuck, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Matt Hamilton, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Ryan Franks, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Alliston also had goals scored by Tanner Dockerty, Matt Cochrane, and Ryan Lewis, who each put in one. In addition, Alliston received assists from Mitch Livingston and Nic Archibald, who contributed one each and Gianluca Pallotta and Andrew Ceolin, who each chipped in two.

The Otters could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Huntsville puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game.

TJ Sherwood made 16 saves for the Hornets on 17 shots. Alliston registered one goal on six power play opportunities. The Otters incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors.
